Pseudo Professor Zosima
The spiritual leader of the troupe was once a dashing young army captain before having an epiphany that resulted in him moving to an isolated hermitage. Since then, after spending most of his life in solitude, Zosima has graduated with a Pseudo Professorship in being able to speak with great confidence about things he knows little about. He was only a kite flyer for a short time, but believed he saw something saintlike in The Idiot and has therefore dedicated his life to the cause.
Kolya Krastokin
A literal precocious child with a fondness for animals and loquacious monologues about society. Forced into flying kites to feed his elderly parents, Kolya was left broken by the collapse of the industry, but then entranced by the party’s push for something better. Passionate, emotional and rash, Kolya is the firebrand with wisdom belying his age.
Sammy Du Beaver
The one irredeemable light in this sea of mediocrity. A former union organiser for the kite flyers, Sammy is the brains of the organisation where any insight or writing of value almost invariably comes from Sammy. She possesses a mind as sharp as a scalpel, a heart held by a googly eyed man and a strange fixation with public transport.
Gennady Bulgakov
A laconic enigma prone to saying little, Gennady is the super spy of the party adept at infiltrating and reporting on matters to further the party’s interest. Possessing fists like sledgehammers, a jaw like a marble statue with a stern stare, Gennady is a man of mystery. No one knows how he came to be here, very rarely he enjoys partaking in figurative language with a penchant for an allegory.
